In the UK and Ireland there are various of types of visa available to those wishing to come to the country from outside the EU. In the UK these include Tier 1 Investor and Entrepreneur visas and Tier 2 Work Permits, Intra-company visas and Sportsperson visas. In Ireland they include Long Stay Visas, Business Visas, Employment Visas and Performance/ Tournament Visas.
The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service offers a Start-up Entrepreneur Programme and, for non-EEA nationals and their families who commit to an approved investment in Ireland, they offer an Immigrant Investor Programme.
In both the UK and Ireland there are strict criteria for visa applications in respect of the format of biometric information to be supplied by applicants, including for example the size and number of photographs.
Furthermore, many of those wishing to apply for such visas lack the language skills or knowhow to identify and complete the correct visa application forms. Applications often fail because forms are completed incorrectly or applicants otherwise supply insufficient identification documentation.
